After my new Step Down Ring failed after 2 days ( stripped its threads ) I contacted SRB for a price for a 58mm to 43mm SDR and they want £40 for what is, at the end of the day, a £5 item ( £5 is how much they charge for all their other 58mm Step Rings ) now I'm quite sure the quality will be excellent ( unlike my old one ) but £40 is a little steep.

So does anyone know of any other companies that make decent quality Step Rings at a sensible price?

Thanks

Andy...

Thanks Nod...but once again no 58mm to 43mm

Plus, my old came off amazon and quality reflects the price.

If it's a funny size then maybe it would be easier to get a set of rings and just use the appropriate ones?

Maybe, but I just wanted a single ring so I can attach my Raynox 150 ( 43mm ) to my 100f2.8 ( 58mm )

May not matter but you will probably get a lot of vignetting with an optic that small on the front of the 100mm?

Great idea, Des...I never thought of that, just ordered a 58mm to 46mm and a 46mm to 43mm from SRB, total cost £12.90, which is a lot better than £40

Thanks fella (y)
That's what I suggested^^^^and you said that was not what you wanted.
Don't know why I bothered.

No need to feel bitter, Mickledore...at the time of reply I did want a single Step Ring, but within those 45min I realized that a single ring was not going to happen, well not a quality one at a decent price.

So, hats off to you for planting the idea of dual Step Rings in my subconscious (y) it just took another nudge from Des to get my brain to agree ;)
