580EX MkII

I've been after a 580EX for a wedding a week on Saturday but everywhere I look seems to say discontinued and awaiting stock of the MkII :bang: One-stop still have them but I think I might have left it a bit late to get it from there now

At a push I could just use the 430EX but I'm anticipating crap light and huge groups of people and would prefer a bit of extra oomph (as well as a backup).

Anyone heard anything or know when these might be available?

He was my first stop None left unfortunately and I'm just waiting for him to come back to me about the MkII. We need our own Kerso hotline Is there an easier way of getting in touch with him other than PM'ing on here?

Just to bump my own thread

Received mine today from Kerso. It's huge compared to the 430EX. Very solid build though and love the dial action compared to those stupid rubber buttons :razz:

Also if anyone is thinking of getting one, the stofen for the 580EX doesn't fit it :bang:

I'm about to replace my Sigma EF 500 Super for a 580EX so I'd be interested in your thoughts too. I'd also be interested to hear from anyone on how the 580EX MkI & II compare to the Siggy for ease of use... ie menu options, adjusting settings etc.

I know the MkI uses the same sized Gary Fong Lightsphere as the siggy but don't know whether the MkII is the same in this respect. Does anyone know if the MkII uses the P4/C4 sized lightsphere?
