580EX ii - Good value?

Hi

Walking past my local camera shop yesterday I was doing my usual peer through the window at the overpriced second hand lenses when I spotted a 580 EX ii flash on the shelf. It was £269 and came with 6 month g'tee. I thought this wasnt a bad price, did a quick google on my iphone to convince myself I hadnt gone barmy. Wandered in for a look, liked it and offered £250. Bloke in the shop rang somebody up, came back and said ok. It also came with an off camera spiral flash cable and came in a black canvas holder and with a clip on plastic diffuser thing.
So was that a reasonable purchase at the price?

If in good condition I would say probably the going rate..A few go for that on this forum, Depending on how many people had it/used before it made it's way to the second hand shop..6 months guarantee not bad

As long as it came with the original canon black case and foot it was a good price. I paid £250 for mine on here mint boxed.

And thats the most important factor when purchasing something. The worst thing to do after is to go looking online to see if you could have got it any cheaper...

Foot? Think that might be missing then. Is that bad?

Are you sure it's not in a pocket inside the case? it's not the end of the world if it's missing, I've never used the stand on any of my flashes

Yep

Im happy with it all now, rechargeable batteries I tried in it didnt work so I need to nip and get some duracell and make sure it actually works now. Sure it will.
