550D Rattle

Just bought a Canon 550D, turned it upside down to get the serial number and i heard a rattle inside the body, i can also hear this when i give it a little shake, can anyone tell me if this is normal.

No not normal! Take it back and exchage it.

ok... i gave Jessops a call and they tried there 550D & 1100D display models and they also had a little rattle????

Try popping up the pop-up flash and seeing if the rattle is still there. My 350D I had a few years ago used to have a slight rattle when the flash was down.

Could well be the linkage on the pop up flash, my 40D had it and was mentioned in the user manual so as not to alarm users

Either the flash linkage or, if it has one, the orrientation sensor that tell the camera which way up you are holding it.

Best bet would be to take it to Jessops and compare rattles, if it's the same then no probs.
