Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum, so I hope sharing YouTube videos is okay to do.
I went out yesterday to test out my new (Vintage) 500mm mirror lens on my Canon DSLR.

Here is the video, what do you think of the shots? I am only a student, with a dream of wanting to be a cinematographer -

Hi and welcome.

Biggest bit of advice from me is try and get your hands on a 180mm macro lens for this type of shot.

Your aim is to show more of what your subject and less of the stuff that doesn't matter.

It's nice to break up this type of stuff with a wide shot but really, you want most of it shot on macro lens :)

Hi Phil

Thanks for the reply.

I definitely agree that in most of these shots, there is too much rubbish that isn't needed.
This lens does have a macro mode at like 1.7 metres or something, I can try that soon. I also have a 200mm chinon lens, I will try that in the future aswell
