My flash has been behaving odly for a while, I do a lot of nightclub photography and 90% of the time it's fine. However, 10% of the time it over fires and completely whites out the entire photo. Normaly this can be fixed by turning off the flash and the camera, detatching and reataching the flash then proceeding. However, tonight the issue wasn't resolveable. I took a bunch of photos which were fine then the flash started playing up and over fired on every shot. I tried reataching and turning off and on multiple times but the flash kept shooting at maximum brightness making all the photos completely white and blinding my subjects for a short while. Even now, at home, I can't get the flash to fire normally. I don't know why it's doing this, I assumed at first it was loose on the hotshoe but now even perfectly locked in place it's not performing correctly.
Has anyone else has this issue and know a solution or should I just return the flash from where I got it?
