430 ex11flashing display

Just bought a 430 ex11 and the items displayed on the lcd panel, flash constantly.There doesn`t seem to be a way to stop this and i find it quite annoying .Is this normal for this speedlight.

Think you just need a new set of batteries. It happened to my 430ex and just replacing them for a brand new set sorted it out.

These are new batteries so do i take it the display shouldn`t flash?

Correct, it shouldn't flash. Have you just tried taking the batteries out and then replacing them a few mins later?

Thank you Stuart. I took the batteries out for a few mins and after replacing them the same way it now seems fine. Thank`s again

The display flashes when the wide panel is pulled out. It's in the manual under "troubleshooting".
