Hi, have the 410 junior tripod head from back when used DSLR's and finding it a bit overkill and heavy for the Z8 & 24-120mm lens so just asking what others are using for the mirrorless systems?
Thanks,
Russ.

I’ve still got my 410. Rarely use a tripod nowadays. Have used it with my Fuji X100 and X-H2. I value its precision. Probably won’t change it.

until you upgrade to 405 or arca cube (££££!!!!!) that is pretty much the only decent head. Just make sure the legs aren't flimsy lightweight and you will be absolutely fine.

Failing that I will more than happily lighten your load and take it off you.

There are alternative geared heads (the Benro Gd3Wh is supposed to be similar or slightly better than the 410 for a similar price), but the precision requires a reasonably solid bit of kit - which makes it relatively heavy.

At near £500 for the 405 I think I may just stick with the weight of the 410:)

No, don't change it. I went the other way and bought the bigger 405 as it's easier on my arthritic hands. (y)

I'll never change to a mirrorless (hate EVFs), but if you want another 410 . . . :ROFLMAO:

I tried the Benro, but sold it on again as I couldn't get used to it after the Manfrotto.

I have an older SunwayFoto GH-Pro for field use (D4 copy). It was reasonably priced (then), light, compact, strong, and the gearing can be disconnected for quick positioning acting more like a ballhead. It's great for landscape/architecture. But it is only geared in two axis, so I keep my 405 for use in the studio/macro. Sunwayfoto does have a GH-Pro+ now that is geared in three axis now, but it's a bit pricey if you don't need it.
They also have a GH-Pro II which is well priced and well made, but it's movements are only gear driven which would drive me nuts.
