Even better value is the 40D 17-85 kit, that works out using the above method at £799.
Without the Egg card £825.
Only £163 more for a 17-85 IS !!. If you don't want the lens sell it on and get an even cheaper 40D!!.

Paul, there WILL be a time when I am reading threads on 40d prices at a lot less than I happily paid using the Dixons/Egg/cashback method.

It will be the same all over again when the 50D arrives with 12 megapixels etc
