400d v 30d

Guys i was forced to sell my 450d due to booking a holiday to New York for my wife's 30th and i have been offered both the 400d and the 30d by members of my camera club to take with me until i can replace the 450d. Which of these would you take a loan of if you had the choice? It will be paired with a 70-200 F4L.

Canon 30D its the better camera by far. It would provide a better balance with the 70-200 lens too!

The 400d is an entry level camera, only consider it if size and weight is a consideration.

Cheers Wai. Thats what i thought. I will be getting my hands on them on Wednesday night so i'll decide for sure then.

The 400D is a newer 10mp camera, the 30D is 8mp.

I use a 20D which is very similar to the 30D and I have few complaints but as you previously used a 450D you might prefer the similar styled and similar handling of the 400D?

Nope, I'd go for the 30D. I had a 400D, and the grip on it is horrible, its not like the newer 450D etc that at least have a proper rubber grip, its just plastic with hardly any depth. Can't go wrong with the 30D IMHO.
