32 micro sd for smartphone question

I recently bought my first smartphone which would benefit from increasing the memory to a maximum of 32G, would I be correct in assuming any class of card would do the job, or should I look for a class 10 as I would for my camera?

I have never given it any thought, it not as if you are writing to it I just buy from CCL at £10-12 and they work fine
