This week the challenge is...

Time

That's pretty open I hope, loads of scope for indoor and outdoor togging.

Usual rules apply:

All entries must be new photos, taken within the timeframe of the comp.
Maximum of 3 entries per person.
Limited PP, cropping, exposure control, sharpening etc is okay, multi layered cut and pasting is not.
The winner chooses the theme for the following challenge.

Entries can be posted from 8pm on Thursday 3rd September until 8pm on Sunday 6th September, with the winner announced later that evening.

Have lots of fun and maybe try something new :)

metronome

metronome4259.jpg

This is an old mechanical metronome, used by musicians to help them play in time, and also by composers to give an indication of the speed of a piece of music. The pendulum makes a loud 'tic -toc' and you can adjust the speed by sliding the weight up and down according to the scale on the printed strip behind it.

Beethoven was the first major composer to add metronome marks to his music, in the early 19th C. Unfortunately I don't have a nice old leather bound edition for the picture!

Well heres the results :)

:1st: goes to tdodd with his impressive knight in shining armour. I like this shot, nice bit of movement towards the camera.

:2nd: goes to Tracer and his old metronome. Top work in getting a good shot of swinging thingy :)

:3rd: and still no trophy for Arsenal, nice sharp shot of your iPhone from Nick T

A big thank you to everyone for taking time to enter the competition and making it so close for me to judge hehe. Let's hope we get a few more entering on a regular basis.

Certainly can't complain with that order - great shots from tdodd and Tracer

Thanks, Comfy, and well done to everyone else. :)

I've got guests round at the moment but will try to think of a theme and post it up as soon as I can.

Typical...... I ran out of TIME!

I have 2 shots in the camera which I did for this them, but neither were really very good, and I didn't get a chance to put them in anyway.

Well done to those who entered, and a great winning shot Todd.

Thanks for the 2nd place! Tdodd's knight is fantastic -- but where oh where did you find the sunshine?!

Thanks :) It was taken at the Orsett Show on Saturday. I was there for a few hours and came home with a bit of colour. Later in the afternoon it was miserable grey cloud everywhere, so I guess I was lucky (or was it careful planning? ;) ).

Here's another shot from the day. I was thinking about captioning it "Back in Time" or "Old Timers".

and then there is the self explanatory....

Unfortunately, I've only just been reminded that I could have submitted three shots in the first place. Oh well :)

The show looks a lot of fun. I can't believe how dried up the grass is, though -- it has been raining here for weeks :shake: :shake:
