Yes
ive only really jsut started to play with my 30d, as my pics in "people"

but i have noticed that its too sharp, and almost grainy even though im running f8 and 100iso, is this normal.

it might jsut be me, or it might jsut be how CS3 looks when prosessing the resize "fit on screen"

am i jsut being fussy, or is my second hand dropped lens and a bargain body of ebay jsut really really sharp.

ill show you what i mean

30d, tamron 17-50mm f2.8 @ 50mm f8

this is straight of the camera, it was in raw, so its been converted and slight light adjustments but no sharpen etc.

CLICK FOR LARGER FULL SIZED.

THIS IS AFTER A VERY SLIGHT GAUSSIAN BLUR

EDIT

now after looking at the full sized crops, its jsut me or its how CS3 looks when i fit to screen.

the blured one looks really soft and the sharp one looks great.

im such a dumb ass

It looks fine to me, what are your settings at in the menu? On your camera, go into picture style, then select the current style, I assume its 'standard' your set too, press jump and then see what your sharpness is set too? If its too high for you just drop it back.

first time I've heard a complaint about images being too sharp! Looks good to me, even makes the contacts distracting!

portrait 2-0-0-0

so not overly sharp.

cheers

What app did you use to process the raw file? Unless it was Canon's DPP the picture style settings are ignored so it might be a case of checking what the settings are in the app you processed the file in.

Photoshop does "process" the preview when viewing at certain magnifications and others it just does a pixel drop scale which can look a bit edgy so it might be that. As for overall sharpness I would say it's about right for the body/lens combo.

Sharpness I wouldn't worry about, it is easy to add slight blur in PS. If you have a blurry pic you are royally screwed, no amount of sharpening can bring back a badly focussed shot. I am sure most people would be envious of your problem.

Haha, yeah, me too. At least its easier to soften an image then it is to sharpen one
