2ND DAY OF NOT SMOKING!

One week folks!!

 :D :woot:

Starting to cough now like donkey with TB - according to a doctor mate of mine the little microscopic hair stuff in the airways start to become alive again after a few days of not smoking and then they start to work out the gunk we put in there by smoking... hence the coughing.

He reckons it will get better in a day or 2:(
Not bad. I would say "Hang in there, you can do it", but apparently non-smokers don't know the addiction.

keep going m80, it only gets easier. But make sure you sort yourself out a few rewards as you reach milestones, like 1 month 3 months 12 months etc, these keep you motivated and give you something to aim for, well worth doing IMO.

Hang on in there mate.
It will be 2 years in September for me. After smoking since i
was 15 and now 65 i found it very hard, but now i hardly
think about them.
In that time i had 1 heart attack from which i almost DIED,,,,
Now i find i have more energy and don,t get out of breath.
Saved a fortune into the bargain.
I wish you well in your quest,,,,You can do it....:)

Dave:) ;)

congratulations and keep it up, just remember you aren't actually 'giving anything up', only 'gaining lots of things'.

I gave up 2 years ago, after many attempts with patches and gum etc gfound it difficult with aids, then went cold turkey after i stopped getting cheap fags and found it VERY easy, have'nt looked back since.

Hmmm...I gained lots of pounds....but then I was preggars!! hehe :D

Hope you are still keeping off the smokes, Anton :)

when I gave up smoking I worked out a months worth of ciggy money and spent it on smoething wothwhile at the start of the month. worked for 2 reasons, 1: i then had no cash for the evil weed!, 2: i had some nice jewellery to wear every day to remind me what i could have if i kept it up! . . . . . I gave up nearly 4 years ago now. that first month was the biggest hurdle.

Keep going!!!!!!!!! :D

Well Done, 28th October 2002 was the last day i had a Ciggie :) spent a couple of months feeling the worst i ever have in my life after it but 4 years down the line and i'm much fitter and healthier than i've been in years

Been away and only just starting to catch up....so WELL DONE you!!!!

I too, am an ex-smoker, so I know what you are going through, but stick at it...one hour at a time....it DOES get easier eventually.....but be warned, the desire for the evil weed never really goes away, you just have to learn how to keep it under control. It really is a little devil sitting on your shoulder, whispering away, but IGNORE it!!

i'd disagree with that personally, sure, the urge is always there, but the craving goes away, all my workmates are smokers, and i never get tempted to smoke anymore, i just pity them for smoking hehe. BTW us ex-smokers are the worst kind according to smokers LOL

So you've now got three hundredweight of jewellery? Or did you start spending it on photo kit?:)

So how ya doin Anton?

Thanks for asking!

Sometimes VERY difficult but I am now using your hour by hour advice!

You must understand that the weed was that odd break in a day where I was on planet serenity for a short while - AT A HUGE COST TO MY HEALTH I KNOW:razz: - Sorry Renee that one not meant at you:lol:

Thanks for your support!

I have been stopped for 6 months now, and ciggies were my way of taking a break, im an I.T. chappie and going to have a ciggie and a think often helped to give u a breather (hmmm maybe not the right term) and sometimes helped to give you solutions by taking a step back from the job.

I still miss it sometimes but it does get easier so keep up the good work !

Scott

I stopped smoking 12 years ago and I've never once had the urge to light up again since :D. Look at those folks at work smoking and pity them, then remind yourself that you're now an ex smoker and feel proud :) They'll go home smelling like an ashtray - you won't  Good luck Anton.

If you don't smoke you're a Non-smoker not ex-smoker otherwise you're telling yourself you gave into the temptation once before and you're on a slipperly slope - Alan Carr

Congrats - you'll not regret it once you're past the craving

kinda partial to new shoes:nuts: , but it is photo kit all the way now!

(I only get out of buying new stuff when I get Joe to upgrade! :naughty: )

Keep going Anton m8 i gave up for 3 months at the start of the year but my mum got rushed in to hospital (poor excuse i know) and the first thing i did was light a cig  I plan on giving up again in the morning i am off to the Paris Airshow at 6am tomorrow morning and i am going with non smokers so i have my patches at the ready so wish me luck
