I would like a 28 - 300 lens to fit a Canon EOS 450D, just wondered what people would recommend, just for general subjects. I will purchase a 100mm or a 135mm fixed lens for weddings etc.
I think you'll find 28-300mm to be a bit long on a 450D. No problem with the 300mm at the long end, but 28mm isn't wide enough for most people with crop-sensor DSLRs. That's why 18-200mm is more common these days.
18 - 200 sounds perfect, I didn`t know you could get an 18mm zoom that went as long as 200, who makes one at a reasonable price? I have an 18 - 55 zoom but I would like to ditch it.
