24mm prime...which one?!

Hi all, just looking for a little advice on getting a 24mm canon prime. I would obviously love the L series, but alas my bank account will not allow me to go that far- it also stretching at the 24mm IS USM as well. Sooo.... I need to choose between the older EF 24mm which doesnt have IS, or the EF-S pancake lens. I have a canon 7d so both will fit...just need some advice on whether its worth going older for the EF or sticking with an EF-S.

If you are sticking with aps c then the 24mm efs is a bargain, edge to edge sharpness at that price point is amazing. Small and light good build quality, it complements the 40mm pancake very well.

It would depend on what your use case is... Is it for good light landscapes? Astrophotography? Events? The answer would depend on the use
