Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and am hoping for some guidance. I recently completed a job for a friend and had an image I took for her professionally printed to 24 x 20" and then professionally framed. The work was completed on 21st Dec. When I saw my friend after Christmas she is concerned that there are very subtle bubbles on the print. She noticed then within the first few days. I went to have a look today. They are very subtle and can only be seen if you catch the light right (or wrong!). They vary in size, are all circular and I guess are best described as an air bubble. The print is not mounted on board as far as I am aware. The frame includes mat board and a frame slip.

I want to get it sorted for her but is it the print or the frame? Who do I go back to? I have had a look through old posts and googled it but I'm not getting anywhere. And I want a bit of understanding before I go back to either the printer or framer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Where is the print on display? It sounds like it might be due to the effects of moisture if it's so subtle, especially if it's only being hinge mounted and not glued to mountboard...poor hinge mounting is more likely to show as ripples in the print

Thatnks for the reply Simon. The frame is up on the wall in their dining room. Didn't appear to be any moisture issues. They have some other prints in the wall and they are fine.

Hi Kerrie,

Do you know what media was used?

If I print on metallic paper using the highest setting I can get very small bubbles. If I print at a lower setting they are fine!

THanks Guys. I will start with the framer and see what he recommends.
