24-105mm on a 450D

I'm not all that clued up on different sensors and so on... Will the 24-105mm be OK on a 450D (crop sensor)? I do intend to upgrade to another body in the future, soI'm trying to buy lenses that will stay with me for a long time rather than getting a EF-S 18-55mm f/2.8. I'm also a tart for the 'L' series. :lol:

Will it be OK?
 
It will be absolutely fine - there are some great comments on this lens on here. I notice you've talked about this on a few ocassions - Just go out and buy it!!:naughty:
 
It will be fine. Better than fine as it will take the image from the centre of the lens.

Yeah, sorry -- I'm just about to buy one (tonight hopefully). Just want to be 100% sure as it's a lot of money and you can't be too careful. :)

Also lucky that they hold there value very well so if you don't like it in the end you wont loose much.

Got one for my 40/50d but also used it on the 400d. It's a great lens and hardly ever off my camera.
 
It'll be fine, you may find the lack of width at the short end annoying but assuming you have that covered in another lens then i'd say go for it.
