For this weeks challenge, I'm mindful that the number of participants has been reducing week by week. So...to re-energise the challenge, I've opted for a very broad theme and one which everyone should be able to have a go at and have some fun completing:

COLOUR

This has a multitude of meaning and interpretations. I'm looking for the amount of thought and originality in the shot, the composition and artistic merit, and the overall impression of the shot and the impact of 'colour'.

Usual rules apply:

- Photo must be taken between now and the competition close (8pm on Sunday 21st).
- The photo must be an original and not a photo of a photo or anything silly like that.
- A maximum of 3 entries per person are allowed.
- Limited PP, cropping, exposure control, sharpening etc is okay, multi layered cut and pasting is not!

Photos may be posted from 8pm Thursday 18th June to 8pm Sunday 21st June, after which the winner will be announced.
 
well of course Im going to try take something suitable this week for yuor challenge :)

Idea being that the challenge encourages people to take a new photo tothe theme, rather than using a previously shot picture. Also - posting photos to commence from Thursday @ 8:00pm

You can also change that one if you like after Thurs 8pm too.

I must admit I'm always a bit keen to jump in sharpish, I didn't realise until recently that there was a date to start posting, I though it was just an end date - :bonk:

Once again, I've had an idea of what I want to do - Whether or not the idea will work I've yet to find out. Good fun trying though!

I don't think I'm going to get a chance to do a proper shot this time round - Very, very busy weekend coming up. But here's my feeble effort of "Dancers in Red" -

Thimbles take two, I have been testing out various composistions and backgrounds, I played a lot with harsh lights to get the little holes on top of it, while still keeping the other two away, this is one out of 50-60 shots:bonk:

Ok, decision time. Lots of very good entries to choose from - well done everybody who took part this week. So here goes...

Worthy mentions first,

BigYin, I liked your hand idea and the processing. If you had added the dimension of colour as in race, then it would have likely been a winner :)

Maxathos, the thimble show was very well executed. I wasn't so keen on the other shot as it was too dark for me if i'm honest.

Comfy, I liked the colour pop idea, and it was a good interpretation of the theme. Gvozdi and Shorty, your entries were also worthy of a mention :)

Now to the winning 3:

I'm going for a joint 3rd as I could not separate these 2 from BeHappy and UniqueGardens. Both very good interpretations of the theme and well shot:

Which leave 1st place: I've chosen this shot for the overall impact of the shot, the interpretation of the theme and the effort that's gone into creating it.

So well done to Steve2 for this shot :clap:

:clap:Congrat's to Steve2 :clap: - excellent image, wish the poppy-fields around here were as densely populated as that one - they're decidedly spotty chez yin!

Cheers for the mention Defiance - to be honest it was pretty much just a marker, and reminder for me to get some more photo's shot! As things turned out, there's been far too much real-life :bang: going on here recently and I haven't had much time - even my Photo-365 has been pretty much diary-shots rather than anything creative.

Hopefully things may calm down a bit and allow me to have a proper go on C21 :D
