On the day, we have an exciting programme planned. We look forward to seeing most of the formula one models of BRM demonstrating through the streets, along with a representative grid of the contesting makes of cars for the 1962 season including Lotus, Lola, Cooper etc, who will also drive through. A cavalcade of 1962 road cars will be driven through and on display in the town, 60’s music will echo around the streets and many more evocative sights and sounds will add to the general air of nostalgic festivity

On Sunday, 7th October 2012, Bourne town centre will celebrate BRM’s 50th anniversary of winning the Grand Prix World Championship in 1962.

Plans are well underway to help Bourne celebrate. These plans include:

A 1962 World Championship Grid line-up, including BRM, Lotus and Lola vehicles.

Demonstration runs telling the history of BRM Race Cars.

A ‘60’s Flavour in Bourne with live music from the period.

The return of many famous cars, drivers and BRM mechanics from the era.

Flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota. (Click for full story)

A cavalcade of cars setting a street scene for the 1962 period.

Should be a good day. It is on the same day as the Shuttleworth Autumn Airshow though - Tough call!

I'll be there.

Harry.

A friend of mine is helping to organise this and if everything goes as planned it should be a really good day.
