Received this today, something for peoples calendars....

As a keen motor racing fan, we thought you should be the first to know that the Earl of March has today confirmed the dates for the 2008 Goodwood Motor Sport events. The 2008 Festival of Speed will take place during the weekend of 11-13 July, with the Goodwood Revival being held over the weekend of 19-21 September 2008.

Next year will see the 16th running of the popular Festival of Speed, and Lord March and his team are currently working flat-out on themes for the event to ensure we attract the crème of the world’s best vehicles and most exciting drivers. The 2008 Goodwood Revival promises to be the best one yet as we celebrate the 60th anniversary since the opening of the legendary Goodwood Motor Circuit, plus ten years of the Revival event itself.

Advance entry and grandstand tickets to both of these events went on sale on Thursday 1st November 2007, and can be ordered as follows:

Online at www.goodwood.co.uk
Email: bookings@goodwood.co.uk
Telephone: +44 (0) 1243 755055

2008 will be my 11th year at the FoS. In fact, I'm about to pop over for an EasyTrack day and get some photos. Box office anyone? :D

Yep, I got the same mail, and I think we are going to give the FoS a miss this time and do the Revival, which I have never done. Mind you, if anyone has any advice on how to make a D200 look like a Box Brownie [to go with the fancy dress], please reply on a postcard.

Out of interest, Shak - what do Goodwood/clubs etc charge (if anything) for 'togging at track days?

A massive... £0. You just drive in, park anywhere, and walk around and nose wherever you want.

I've been meaning to find this out. Living so closely, surely I can find a route to get into the FoS through some fields and not pay the entry fee.

I know it's been done before!

Ta, thought so. May have to drop by the circuit next time I'm down with my folks. As for sneaking in to the FoS or Revival, it's pretty tricky. Last year, though, a chap on one of the smaller gates let me in (unprompted) for free at about 4:00, so saw the last couple of hours of racing for nowt

That's not that uncommon, actually.

These are the remaining dates for 2007:

Today: Easytrack
Fri 23rd Nov: Track Masters
Sat 24th Nov: Porsche Motor Club GB (same as the thread I posted last week.)
Sat 1st Dec: Goldtrack
Fri 7th Dec: Goodwood Marshalls Club
Sat 8th Dec: Bookatrack
Sat 15th Dec: Easytrack

Give me a shout if you're down on any of the Saturdays.

I'll be at FOS again this year may even make an effort to get to the Revival too as I've not been to tthat before.
Does anyone know when the FOS Media day is planned for and are the public allowed in. I think this years was around March.
