Afternoon all,

Just wondering if there is any benefit in running 2 monitors side by side, one in Landscape orientation, the other in vertical or portrait.

I edit in Lightroom - I have read somewhere that "LR has good support for 2 monitors" but have no idea what this means, or what it does?

Also - I guess getting 2 of the same monitor would be advisable? Would it matter that one was 24" and one 22"?

Cheers

I have a 19" LCD which shows the catalogue and develop modules and a 20" IPS one which shows the image in full screen mode.

THe orientation is not set by lightroom but by Windows so Lightroom should work fine.

I don't get the portrait orientation thing though? On large screens it doesn't really offer much.

Windows generally works better with 2 screens (size of the screens doesn't matter). I have my laptop and a 20" monitor at work and they work fine together.

At home I have a 23" and 22" side by side giving me a desktop that is 3360 x 1050.

I don't think Lightroom can automate that, but having the two side by side, it's easy to turn view the photo large on either monitor.

I just wondered if it was possible to set it to make Portrait images open on the portrait monitor and landscapes open on the Landscape.

Portraits display OK on my 24" Dell monitor (in landscape orientation) but would be better if I had one of each...

cheers

Why would you want to do that? You should be able to see images at a large enough size without the need...... And no Lr won't know the difference. You would need to keep swapping - More bother than it's worth.
