2 billion pixel image

Thats insane - there was one bit where I thought it was litter till I zoomed in...

Impressive... but nothing 10x8 film couldn't do with one exposure :)

Really?
Has anyone an online example?

No idea... I haven't. Not shot 10x8 for ages. I'll root around my archive, but I doubt I'd have a full blown scan. You can get a 2gb TIFF from a 10x8 without interpolation. Think about it... ISO 50 slide film, and a transparency 10x 8 inches...

That's like having a high pixel density digital camera with a sensor 254mm across it's longest side as opposed to 36mm. Shoot with an ultra sharp lens, and you can imagine the quality.

Getting a decent scan of a 10x8 is a pain in the ass though.

I can imagine, interesting looking at the old analogue vs digital.

Funnily enough someone I know who really into old film was pointing out that a load of old stock was being brought up to bluray as its easier to work from, same sort of idea I guess.
