Things I have learnt so far about LF.

1) Just because it looks like a 4x5 film holder it doesn't mean it is one.
2) Re: Point 1. You can't squeeze 4x5 film into a 9x12 film holder. No matter how hard you try.
3)Between each piece of 4x5 Adox film is a separating sheet of thin paper, it's not the film delaminating.
4)There really isn't enough room in a changing bag to load more than one holder at a time.
5)If you do try and load more than one holder at a time make sure you can remember which ones you have loaded.
6)When using a changing bag you will almost always end up with finger prints on the neg. I won't know for sure for a while but I'm pretty sure my landscapes will have some interesting finger marks, I suppose it will save me having to watermark my shots when I upload them.

That's all for now, no doubt I will come across more things not to do over the next few weeks.

Sounds like you had an interesting time Nick!

It was, now let me think .... challenging!

Still it's all a learning curve, if I wanted an easy life I'd stick to digital :naughty:

Have you renumbered to put the film in the right way round.

Only time will tell. But after all the swearing and fumbling I bloody hope so. Now I just need to remember to remove the dark slide when I take the shot.

LOL, been through all of the above in the last year. Recomendations, get yourself a Calumet changing room, much easier to deal with 5x4 and I can now load at least 4 film holders at the same time.
Yes the paper between the sheets of Adox caused me grief at the begining, now I know its there its easier.
And to sound like a complete numpty, my first sheets I loaded backwards because the instuctions said the notch was in the upper right corner, and thats only correct if its in portrait. I wrongly believed the upper right corner did not mean on the top edge. Result, lots of very under exposed and bady focused sheets.
Its all part of the learning process.

This all sounds very familiar :)

I will suggest if you don't mind developing by individual sheet, see if you can find a cheap patterson orbital developing tray setup. I was given a motorised one and I reckon its great for getting consistent results. Only problem is I can only reliably do one sheet at a time.

Haha, you will get used to it. I can load 6 holders from two boxes of film in mine, get some gloves ;)
