How can i get the metering to be displyed in the top LCD screen when in Manual mode??

I don't think you can, it seems the top panel meter is just for EC

thats what i thought! iv looked everywhere in the menue!! thats a real shame..

I've not seen any dslr that you can display the exposure meter on the top lcd.
Its always just the exposure compensation scale thats been on them.

I'm sorry, the above statement is not factual!:nono:

Both my 5D and 300D show the exposure in the top window WHEN YOU ARE IN MANUAL MODE, why would you need to know when you are in one of the auto modes?

Pretty sure my Nikon D200 and D3 did as well, but can't check them anymore!

Jeeze thats a bit harsh :suspect:

I guess i only look at it in the view finder in manual mode

What a load of Tosh!

my 1D mk2 doesn't have it in manual mode but my 30D does

theres no point in having the EC in manual as you dont use compensation.. its the actual exposure your setting.. if you want to compensate then you'd change the exposure..

Oh well.. thats a shame, its not like theres not room for it on the lcd!! lol.. i liked the ability to adjust the exposure looking at the top screen..

:p
