1D mkIII focus point

just a quick question about the focus on a 1D mkIII, when i press the shutter button half way the focus point i selected stays on till i take the shot even if i take my finger off the shutter button is this normal? It does not do it on my 40D though.

hmmm i changed my af button to be the af-on so it doesnt behave the same as yours, but i dont think the af square has ever stayed on after the button has been released ?

even when i use the af-on button for the focus it stays on, i dont think it used to do it when i got it but i restored it to default and now it does it for some reason.

Without looking, I think you have maybe selected the 'AF Visible' or something like that so it will always highlight which AF point is selected at a glance, as I say though not near a camera to check right now !

also if i put it on auto AF where it selects the focus point i dont get any AF on the screen when i half press the shutter and when i review the pic is shows all the focus points in the info bit.
