19" TFT Monitor, £129.99

very cheap nowadays these things, i paid 250 for my LG TFT a couple of years ago

Has anyone actually got one of these, my monitors so bad I can hardly read some text on it anymore :(

I bought a 19" Digimate from Aria last year, which at the time cost me about £230 I think, so I would assume it's of the same 'ilk'.

Just be careful with monitors which have a top res of 1280X1024. That format compresses and deforms your images vertically if you use that res. If you doubt it try viewing a circular image - a ball or something - at that res.

You need a slightly lower res of 1280X 9 hundred and summat (960?) which a lot of cheaper monitors don't support. :)

But 1280x1024 is the standard?

1280x960 is widescreen ;)

They're listing a couple on this link, 2nd and 3rd down, was it one of them and are you happy with it?

Mine's not on that list...but it's very close to the 1918.

Mine is the 1916 with DVI.
Link to amazon

196 inc free delivery it was (just checked) :)
A monitor I'm very happy with...I've been having some problems over the past week....occasionally it flickers when knocked or tapped...I think it could be a dry joint...

It does have 3 yrs manufacturers warranty though

OK mate. Draw a circle in PSP and then view it at 1280X1024 :)

Ooooo... be careful here. :) Many TFT screens have rectangular pixels, so 1280 x 1024 is correct and a circle does display as a circle. The Viewsonic monitor I use is like that - perfectly circular circles at its native resolution of 1280 x 1024.

With CRT screens you'd have to use 1280 x 960. :)

Good old Silky.... mystery solved then. :D My old Proview Monitor which cost me a mint displays umpteen intermediate res's whereas my new cheapy one doesn't. Having said that I'm quite happy with the quality of the pic apart from the limitations of the higher res for photo stuff.

Ahh I think this is where we're getting wires crossed. CT are you talking about CRT's?, and me about TFT'S.

You almost had me worried I was showing you all heavily flattened photos :p

LOL
Just to confuse the issue, my proview and my cheapy XEROX are both TFT
