Hi, today i got my camera out to take photos and when i've used the zoom ring on the lens, it's became all stiff all of a sudden and hard to use, plus it jerks. Any ideas anyone? is this a common thing with this lens?
 
I have had no issues of the sort with mine, I would suggest to take it back if it is still under warranty.
 
are you sure it's the zoom ring and not the focus ring?

Plus to the above question: make sure that you move the focus ring with the auto-focus switch set in manual position. Don't force it.
 
Thank you for you replies. Yeah it's the zoom ring, focus ring is fine. It was working smooth then last night it seemed tight and jerked a bit when zooming in and out, like something was stopping it?

Still under warranty so think ill just send it away, just wondered if it was a common thing
 
Take it back to the shop it came from and see if they'll lend you a replacement or even replace it for you.
