Been having a bit of a clear out and have just come across half a dozen rolls of Fuji Sensia slide film. It has just been sitting in a box, not a fridge or anything. I have not shot film for probably ten years. Is it likely to be of any use for anything other than the bin? I think some of them come with the prepaid envelopes for development by Fuji.

I imagine they'd at worst be interesting if shot, as long as they haven't been sitting on a radiator. If you don't want to take the risk of shooting it, you could definitely sell them on eBay.

The process-paid envelopes expired last year, IIRC (I also have a roll of Sensia, which is why I looked it up then.)

Hi Andrew, if the box was not in direct heat and they are still in their boxes and plastic containers they will probably be ok. Maybe worth adding a stop when shooting them to account for their age.

Pop one in a camera and give it a go, you might find you still like it. :D

You might get a bit of colour cast, but they'd likely work fine. I only had one roll of Sensia before it was discontinued, and I loved it! Try a roll, you might like it (CC Imaging look like the best price for E6 process and scan), if not, you can sell the rest, try on here, or fleabay with the word "Lomo" in there somewhere.

ETA, yes an extra stop, maybe even a stop and a half, might be a good idea. So shoot at 50 or 40...

For what it's worth, I shot a load of ten year expired Ektachrome 100VS on holiday in May and it looks just as expected. I see no colour casts or under exposure. I shot it normally at box speed.

Shoot one at box speed. Dev it as normal. Suck it and see over the others and use them or punt them on.

I love shooting with expired film. Use a 19yr old roll earlier this year. You either love that expired look or you don't. If you don't then there's no end of buyers willing to take a chance on it on ebay. Lots of Lomo love out there.

'Slide Film' usually does not need so much extra exposure as PRINT film as what happens is the 'D-Max' gets lower with fog effects and so you do not get such a good 'black' density and contrast is lowered -- I have some outdated Sensia II I was given and it needs rating only at 80 ASA instead of 100 ASA BUT some 10 year old Kodak Ektachrome Elite Extracolour is still good at 100 ASA ! I have some 220 size kodak Ektachrome 200 over 30 years old my friend said it must be -- it was OK at 200 ASA still but low 'D-max ' and contrast which I could adjust in FastStone Image Viewer or PhotoShop 7 on scans.
