So I've got this client wanting to print an image onto wallpaper that will stretch to about 13m x 3m. That 'm' is meters. After discussing it on IRC it became apparent that the best way would be a panoramic. Not a huge problem, easily done. So off I go to take it. The first thing that I notice is the sunset won't stretch across 13 images for the panoramic. So the left hand side of the image would be really dull. So I figure I'll just use Genuine Fractals to upscale it. Ok so it quickly becomes apparent that that's a bad idea. It estimates a 2gb jpg and instantly eats up 15gb of my HD space leaving me with 0kb free. The process fails. I've come to the conclusion that I maybe doing this wrong. Theres no real way I can hand over a 2gb jpg to my client. Thats insanely big! Obviously being this large its meant to be appreciated when you stand back and look at it. So I still feel that panoramic is the best way to do this. I've printed to 1m before without any issues, and it looked great. I used GF to do that. Maybe I should upscale it to 1x4 or something. 1/3rd the required size but in theory it might be ok to view when you stand back. Its probably a silly question but has anyone printed to 13 meters wide before?
