Yes
what are the differences between and which is best for certain job ?

examples of work pls

is it worth investing in L or not

The L is better if you are going to be hand holding the camera. I'll be getting one of the Canon 100mm Macro lenses this year, if I can afford the L I will go for that, but I'm sure the standard one will still do a good job.

Id get the L if you can afford it, Id also go for the 100mm as 60mm, you have to get pretty close so if your shooting insects, it wont spook them as easy with a 100mm

Your pics are v good did u use a tripod and a l lens ? What flash you use !?

If you can't afford the L then the standard 100mm macro is still a superb lens, the image quality is really superb and the af quick (I usually manually focus when doing macro though). Basically if you need the is then get the L, if not grab the non L.

yes this is the L lens well worth the extra money for the IS. I dont have any tubes at the moment so these are straight from the lens

The 100mm L doesn't have to be used for macros :D

I've got the 100mm 2.8 L and I love it!
It's worth every penny.

You really need the IS if your shooting hand held.
My shot was taken with no flash and hand held.

The 100mm L is a great lens, the minimum focal distance is a couple of inches, it's very sharp - even wide open & it's also a fab portrait lens. The price of these has dropped a little so if you can afford it then do, you won't regret it
