Hi all.

I am making the move to 100mm filters and buying the lee foundation set with a 77mm wide angle adapter and 67mm standard adapter.
the price of this set is such that I am going to have to save up for the LEE filters as even just the .6nd is £140!!!

what I would like to know is which filters would be a good stop gap? I have been using Hitech resin filters up until now, so would these still be ok, but in the larger format?

Any advise would be a great help.

Ben.

I've just made the same leap myself!

I'll be watching out on ebay for lee filters, and will be getting some hitech ones to tide me over :)

The price doesn't half mount up quick! It's the adaptor prices that I can't get over. I tried to keep costs low when I 'invested' in my Lee kit but even using hitech filters I still spent nearly £500. Luckily, it's the sort of stuff that should last you a lifetime.

Hitech filters are a good stop gap, probably the next best thing to Lees. The only big disadvantage with them is that they don't stack well in the same way that Lees do. It's no big issue 90% of the time.

Why not start a thread in the wanted section for the hitech filters? You never know, somebody might have a couple of grads lying around spare... ;)

Check eBay every day. I got a full foundation holder kit with 77mm adapter, and a 0.3,0.6 and 0.9 soft grad kit all for £150. it was all like new too.

hi guys. thanks for the replies. holder+77mm wide adapter and 67mm standard adapter for £124 inc postage. not to bad I think.
have seen some Hitech pro filters for about 35 each.

thanks for the help.
Ben.
