10 Stop - Nikon 18 - 55mm

I'm not all clued up on 10 stops, but I assume if it's like any other circular filters for a thread it'll be the size on the lens (labelled Ø) That'll be the size you need.

I have that lens, and use a B+W 52mm on it. If you get one, just remember to cover the viewfinder up to avoid any light leaking in and turn off VR, I also find a remote is handy to avoid vibrations.

I also use a B & W 10 stop filter on my 18-52mm, its great for long exposures.
As said block the viewfinder and use a remote, a tripod is also a great help.

It's 18-55 and a tripod is a MUST..

One thing worth pondering (I'd have thought) is, if you are planning on getting any more lenses in the future (or upgrading the one you have now) and you know what that lens might be, check if the filter size on that will be larger and get the filter for that now, and a step down ring.
Say for example you fancy getting a sigma 10-20mm down the line. The size for that is 77mm I believe. So you could get a 77mm 10 stop and a step down ring to your 52mm.
When you get the 10-20mm lens (for example) later you are good to go from the off.

I prefer the slip on filter systems, makes it easier to take the filters on and off without disturbing the camera and lets use the filters on lenses with different sized threads.
