Not gonna get yer pics back though is it . .. :(

You don't say whether or not you had other copies, but the moral of the story here is - NEVER store files in just one location. I have an external 1TB drive set to sync to my photos HDD on my PC, and I also burn my pics to 2 DVDs, one of which I keep in my studio, and the other which goes into a safe in my garage - I plan on burning new copies of the DVDs in a few years, as I've heard a few horror stories about disc dye degradation . . . .

Stevieboy - get some archive grade DVD's. Cost about £15 for 10 decent quality ones, they should last 100 years or so.

I've had some (cheaper) DVD's and CD's degrade in 4-5 years (kept in cases out of direct sunlight).

Well i spoke to amazon & their policy is i must return the drive to get my refund as i dont want a replacement.
I explained about all my photos & documents on there, they wont budge on that,i also told them i will never use them ever again, closing my account.:bang::bonk::thumbsdown:
But i have backups of my photos.:D
