No worries :D I really like it  and well done for getting us going

Nice framing on your shot Steph

Here is my first attempt at Abstract, was some reeds in the wind with a background of blackberry bushes (not that you can see them!). Shot @100mm, f/32 and, most importantly, 1s shutter. Made slightly darker in post as it was about +1EV in camera.

Well this is my first for the challenge  I couldn't resist starting the challenge off with a light trail only another 29 of the challenge to go

Nope, not without getting moved by the cops or shooting through wires - think the wires around big cat enclosures etc.. They don't like people around our highways... And there are high fences along most, to stop the wildlife causing accidents.

:naughty:  nothing that bad!! Just made no sense!!

I wouldn't worry I'm the king of typo's round here, my fingers could do with auto correct some days  I've been playing around with urban light trails recently maybe you could give that a go

That's the plan for tonight! Providing I can walk... But that's another story! I have an idea for a shot for today's one I'm just not sure if I can pull it off!

It was more of a 'lets change one word to three' moment for the iPhone!! And I didn't catch it when I proof read... :-/ and I've also just realised this should probably be in the other thread... Oops!!

Here's a +1 second exposure trying to capture movement with a computer snooker demo .....

Nice one, doing it on a real table can make a stunning result :D

Ever since capturing my first photo of the Milky way from this position I've waited for a clear night to get back there for a star trail from that angle

This is approx 45 minutes as 30 second exposures

Thanks Matthew, now I need to think of something for tomorrow or today as the case maybe! :help:

Ok, firstly apologies for my pitiful effort yesterday :-/

Now... Today's effort...

2012 5:54 PM by StephyB86, on Flickr

Had difficulty deciding between this and another, but I think this one edges it just because of the sunset... I think....

Everyone else... Wow!! Such gorgeous efforts already!!

Great pics all. I must try to get out at night...

Matt, loving the star trails. Question though...the trails top right curve in an arc opposite to those bottom left. I know you can get them to go in circles by aiming north but how did you manage this effect? Is it natural? Very wide lens? Combination of things?

Hi Gary glad you like it  basically it's done by facing south, so that you picking up as shown here some of the curve round both the north and south polar axis  so yeah entirely natural :woot:

Stephyb ... That glow in the sky..a vapour of light trail... Its gorgeous!!

:D thank you :D your comment made my day :D

I'm actually taking Matts advice and repositioning a little on Monday afternoon to see if I can do better though...

Ok folks I can't do fireworks tonight as I will be with good friends eating good food and drinking plenty of good wine, and because of that I really don't want to think of what you will get tomorrow if anything at all! Anyway here goes for day 3 make the most of it as you might not get day 4!!!! lol

Called it "Glass Reflection" because of the way my little computer room come photographic studio come general tip is reflected. lol

This rule of thirds thing gets me, I have off set the photograph trying to keep that in mind but question - Would this photograph be better off being centered?

Look forward to your advice.

Carol
