I did a google search a while back and found a review (http://www.kramery.com/en/DUarticles/detail.asp?iArt=580)which said it would work but only with the 1.4 as the 2x seems to rob too much light for the autofocus to work. I think the general consensus is they will work but in overcast conditions the camera may struggle to autofocus (maximum apeture raised to f8).

I use a Kenko 2x TC on a D50 with a tamron 70-300mm. All functions work perfectly. You do get the 2 stop loss as mentioned in lower light this makes things tricky - but they deffo work
