£40-50 2metre Tripod??

Is it possible to pick up a reasonable sturdy tripod for under £50 that can extend to 2metres?

My current one is a cheapy that extends to 5ft and I'm finding it really awkward to set the camera precisely on what I want to focus on as I'm always bending down to look through the viewfinder, plus as I have it extended to the max it doesn't half shake.

Any advice

Redsnapper - not quite 2m but very nearly. and note quite £50 but worth every penny over. The text says 1600mm but I think that is to the top of the tripod, not the extended post - I can't see in the eye piece of the 30D when the tripod is fully extended and I am 1.83m tall... if I remember I will measure it tonight!

Maybe just out of your price range but I'd look for a second hand manfrotto 055 series

hi, i have the manfrotto, and it is not portable(quite heavy), but it does what you need, I also am 2m.
