£100 for my bday.. what can i get for Canon?!

Hi guys,

We're limniting bday presents at £100 this year. So just wondering. Should i opt for the nifty fifty for my canon 450d. or would a benefit from a flash? And if so, what flash can i get for a canon for sub £100?!

Go for the nifty fifty! Although it depends on you, what you shoot, and where you feel your kit is lacking really. For £100 you won't get much of a flash, so get the 50mm, save the £30 along with any other spare cash you get to put towards a really good flash a bit later on! That's just what I'd do though!

I would save up the extra and get a 430EX II flash rather than an cheaper one.
I've notice that people tend to sell the cheaper ones quite quickly in the for sale section.
Otherwise if you want a good cheap prime lens, you won't go wrong with a nifty fifty providing you find you use it often enough (unlike I did).
