fuel usage

Hi all I am using a hired Corsa 2017 model 5:door and the terms mean I can take it back on empty tank........so would welcome some insight about the guage. NB it was rented with half tank paid for up front!!! Currently showing white on the last "bar" so getting close to empty but I surmise...
