How do you carry your gear at the circuit?

Yes
I am interested to know how everyone carries their motorsport photography gear at the track? I flip between a rucksack/a shoulder bag/a vest and belt depending on how bad my back is, with two bodies hung off a leather harness that my wife bought me from Estonia.

I always carry too much gear though, and I am interested to know what everyone else does as I might pick up some tips.

Haven't done motorsport for years, but always used a bag or backpack when I did. I use a harness (holdfast) for weddings though.

Whatever I'm doing, I generally carry two cameras, one wth a superwide zoom and one with a long ratio zoom. When not in use they go into the smallest bag they'll fit, otherwise one is on my neck and the other across my chest.

I use a Black Rapid twin strap and leave the two bodies and lenses hanging by my side. I also have an Alpinestars media vest which has lots of pockets, some of which are big enough to carry a 70-200 or a 24-70 if I need a wider angle lens where I'm going, as well as bottles of water, snacks etc. I gave up on carrying a backpack years ago when I realised I spent half the day bending down to pick it up, put it down safely etc then moving again a few minutes later. Now I just take the lenses I need with me for the corner(s) I'm going to and leave the rest in the car. Later in the day I'll walk back to the car and swap lenses, top up water etc. As a result, I no longer get such a sore back or neck after a weekend, though it can increase the step count a bit.

Depends on how busy the public areas are. I usually carry one camera on a black rapid strap and the other in a rucksack of somesort (depends on the weather). If it is anything like Goodwood Revival I've lost count of the times people have clattered into me and my camera which is usually followed by a loud utter of 'I hope that hurt!'; so having the harness which allows you to carry 2 cameras by your side is not suitable for Revival.

I carry one attached to a monopod which is either over the shoulder or carried upside down. A second body on a sling strap. I don't carry everything everywhere. I also have an Alpinestars media vest if I need to carry more stuff.

I now just take my Sony 6600 plus 70-350mm which is all I need. I leave my heavy Canon 5D4 at home. I also take a light weight fold up chair. I am off to the Motor Cycle racing at Castle Coombe in October.

Carry all my kit in a Novo Calder40l backpack, with a Lowepro Nova 170 alongside it for extras, Camera stays monopod mounted most of the time while im trackside, with the 300 left on there if I switch to a different lens. I'll utiliser a combination of these over the course of an event, depending on what my intentions for the session are, and what my clients are needing. The Calder is a mega backpack option though, and far superior to the F Stop one I used previously

My Z9 is attached to my 400mm f/2.8 on a monopod which I carry over the shoulder or by the strap on the lens. My Z8 is attached to either the 70-200 or 24-70 on a BlackRapid and I also have a backpack that I have that contains one lens, filters, batteries and a few other bits and bobs. I also have a D750 that has a fisheye lens attached to it that basically stays in the car until I wander round the paddock.

depends on the need. I've bought myself (at great cost) a lowe pro trekker 650 aw

I tend to use this on rallys when i need to cary a couple of remotes plus lenses or I use it to cary my 400 2.8 with a body mounted at circuits plus a couple of lenses, carrying my 70-200 and second body in my hands. If i can get the car around though, I'll mainly just carry it over my shoulder with a 70-200 on another body and dispense with the bag.

I've found its not quite tall enough (about 1.5cm short) to carry a 70-200 upright which feels like a schoolboy error really as it wastes a lot of space and I've taken stacking a couple of lenses to get over this.

This is a good one for me because I go to the British GP every year and I have promised myself that I will take my gear next year.

I have one attached to a monopod and another body in a side bag

Have only ever used the one body / lens - 99% of the time on a monopod with gimble head - have a small messenger type bag with spare battery / CP filter , cloth and of course chocolate biscuits ;-)

I've only got one camera. I pretty much always carry it on a wrist strap, with a spare lens in my Gomatic PM sling. For motorsport or airshows where I'm using my 100-400, I use my Domke F-6 (the model name is "little bit smaller" which always makes me smile), purely because the 100-400 doesn't fit in the sling.
