Show us yer film shots then!

"The light". Minolta Dynax 5, 35-105mm, Fomapan 200 in Bellini Duo Step.

Under a rail bridge on the Rochdale canal. Low winter sun reflected onto the roof.

These shots were metered by the camera's matrix system. No compensation made. I'm impressed with this camera.

Beach-side crow.

2510APMXBW11 Sunday crow.jpg

Pentax MX, SMC Pentax-M 35mm f/2 lens, yellow filter, Kentmere 100 at EI 200, HC-110 dilution B (1+31) for nominal 8 minutes.

I'm confused at what looks like colour fringing on the RHS of the crow... on black and white film!

I don't get the fringing here. It is probably a monitor effect, I sometimes get it on some of my images. Have you tried changing the image size, you may find it goes away.

Green?

No fringing for me on my monitor, but maybe a tiny hint of green on my phone screen at the base of its right wing. Maybe an optical illusion.

I think it's possibly an effect of my version of Capture One Pro, in that the lower end of the histogram is definitely showing different levels for different colours. I'd assumed this is a bug, and have been contemplating paying the horrendous upgrade cost to get rid of it!

In C1Pro it's visible at all sizes, although the effect changes a bit and is much less pronounced at 400%. Anyway, I'm glad others are not seeing it.

I can't see any green!

An impressive result

Thank you.

Here is another lucky shot. I set the XA & A11 flash then selected a different aperture that has the affect of giving slow synch flash. Then switched on the self timer and rested the camera against a stone on the ground in front of my dog guessing the composition. With the dog sitting I pressed the shutter button then used her ball to attract her attention.

I lost her feet and a bit of her ear and had to deal with the red eye. Otherwise I'm pleased with it.

Fantastic result, thanks for sharing the technique so we can all have a try.

Again, Mamiya C3, K100, lab dev & low res home scan.

The chap, 26, has a disability so his Invacar meets his inner London driving needs perfectly.

PS - I had 20 films back from the lab Christmas Eve, most with prints but no scans. More will be posted when I scan them. I hate scanning so any scans will be as Epson Scan does them, all without any tweaks.

Happy New Year all.

First time posting in probably a decade or more, after a hiatus from photography.

In 2025 I picked up a Leica M3 and laterally a Nikon F3 (thus far avoided the lure of digital, except for low-light stuff which I'm using a D800 I picked up for film-scanning). I took the F3 to Kathmandu in October 2025 a few days and thought I'd share some of my shots, all on Kodak Gold 200.

Gotta love Freaky Street!

Inspired me to get into the loft and dig out some old negatives.

Welcome back - fine images

Nice simple colour combination there Nigel, works really well.
Thanks Wayne. Light blue and orange are complementary colours on the colour wheel, so go a long way to help a picture, although I don't think that crossed my mind when I took the shot. I just thought it looked interesting. :)

Another new-to-me camera, another set of test pictures.......
This Minolta Dynax 505si Super replaces my Dynax 5 as a capable image maker. The Dynax 5 indicates low battery most of the time, and I recently found out that it will not work when at 10c or lower. This is fine on the same pair of batteries and is very similar in performance. Worked very well on this cold test outing to my usual test destination, by the Rochdale canal.
EDIT: I also have a spare Dynax 5 (they are so cheap....) this behaves in exactly the same way as the other one, so a simply replacing the camera could be a waste of time/money.

These were taken using the 35-105mm zoom lens at 35mm. I found that I like 35mm rather than 50mm for a lot of my images, but finding a prime is not easy/cheap.
