    D23 Developer

It is worth pre soak / pre washing 120 and large format films in particular if using a non one shot developer, the colour comes from anti halation dyes.

    Agfa APX 400 v Ilford HP5

Is this the film that is currently sold as Agfa APX400 or outdated APX 400 cut from original bulk rolls by Lupus in the mid 2000's? There has been noise on the interweb that the new APX400 may be a Harman product, similar to Kentmere 400, I have used plenty KM400 but I have not yet tried the...

    Problem

Yes you should be ok if you don't keep the made up solution too long, as in days or weeks, a few hours will be fine.

    Nightmare film experience

I agree with the first two points above but have never tooth brushed my spirals despite living in hard water areas.

    Ilford 517 light leak

I did conclude that it was the loaded film 'window' on the back of my Aria that was causing minor light leaks with TP 517 as neither my Olympus XA or both my Son's Nikons FG20 and FM2N have had problems. I think that the silver swaged on end caps have a wider diameter than the usual black end...

    Nightmare film experience

I do find that cameras that wind on reversing the film's curve can make the film more difficult to load on to Patterson spirals, I have occasional problems with films that have been through the Nikons and Leica M2 which advance as above, my Contaxes which wind on with the film's natural curl are...

Does anyone use Amazon Photos for storage ?

I have been using Amazon Photo as an off site backup for my NAS, like insurance it is one of those things you need but don't want to have to use, recovering everything would be so slow and a massive pain but eventually doable. As I pay for Prime the photo part is effectively free, the small...

Which fixed lens rangefinder style camera.....

The compact rangefinder market of the time was very competitive with all the well knowns competing at similar feature and technology points, the also rans were at the same party and not so brand desirable but of very similar quality. I would just look around and see what is available and fits...

Show us yer film shots then!

It may have been an annoying and comparatively expensive mistake but the resulting images look good. Out of interest, did you mix them up with rolls of conventional B&W film or was it something more ?

How to create borderless darkroom prints?

Commercially they would have used a vacuum easel to suck the paper flat, if you had lots to do it would be worth trying to find a used one or improvising something with pegboard and a vacuum cleaner. For a one off Andrew's suggestion is good, certainly cheaper than to use the next size up paper...

    Ilford DD-X Reuse Capacity

Yes Chris you are right, I was reminded of that at the weekend whilst looking up development times for DDX on the Massive Dev Chart.

    Ilford DD-X Reuse Capacity

^^^ Yes you are correct in that as a one shot developer 1L of concentrate can when made up process much more than 10 rolls of 35mm 36exp. films. Ilford above are saying that the 1L of made up developer can be re used to develop up to 10 rolls of film, they do caution that build up of...
