Hi, slightly similar question to OP, and not trying to hijack the thread, but I have a 500d and mainly use i for my sons Football team pics (under 8's).
I have a 70-300 IS USM zoom and a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and was wondering if the 70D would be a step up (I was mainly thinking of the 7fps)

I've been having a quick glance through my pic and I seem to cover the complete range (guess I've not settled into a specific genre/style).
my 18-55 lens has had more use, but I feel my images seem a bit "soft" when using this.
I'll try have a look at more of my pics to see what may suit...

I've looked at numerous threads recommending specific Lenses for different applications.
but, I'm after a bit of help deciding between 2 lenses as a main use/walkabout
the choices are:
Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
both these lenses are...
