Thanks for your advice. I think as it was my first time at this style of photography, it may be a confidence issue. I may look for an event that attracts more people with cameras where I am not the only one and will not stand out so much.

I had the Nikon and was lent the Tamron to try. After using on both D600 and D7100 I preferred the Tamron, so much so I sold the Nikon and bought the Tamron.

My other half wanted to go to a car boot this morning, so to keep the peace I agreed to take her. I decided to take my camera with me while I wandered around. Although I spotted some interesting people, I felt quite uneasy about photographing them. Is there a right or wrong way to go about this...

I only got it over the Tamron as it came up at the right price. By all accounts they appear to be as sharp as each other, but the Sigma is slightly lighter.

Don't we all selectively lie !! Example; we see someone we know proudly pushing a pram along, we stop to congratulate them on their newborn. Then utter the words " oh what a lovely baby" even though it may well look like a bulldog sucking a wasp.

A friend of mine showed me her recent wedding photos and they were terrible. They looked like they had been taken on a vivid ++ setting. Her and her husband agreed they were "not brilliant" but seemed unwilling to complain. When I asked how much they had cost I could not believe the bad quality...

Many thanks for that. I still remain a little confused, I have just taken a shot in Raw printed it without any editing, then converted to Jpeg and printed, both A4. To be honest I cant really see any difference between the two ?

Please can someone point me in the right direction ? When converting RAW files do I convert to JPEG in camera then edit in NX2 or import to NX2 as Raw, edit then convert to Jpeg ? I hope this question makes sense as I am new to digital and have only shot in JPEG up until now

I agree with Hugh about the newer glass. All my lenses bar one are Gs they have Nano coated glass which compared to the only D lens I have, 35-70 f2.8 seem to have improved contrast and colour. They also seem less prone to flare.
