Had my GM 35mm a few weeks now and using it for my first event today. Loving it already, initially missed having the reach of my 28-75mm but adjusting without much fuss. 35mm is such a great focal length.

Very nice on the A7V upgrade. I was considering the same but reckon I should have some time with my A7iii and the 35mm GM first. And I've just come across the Tamron 35-150mm - this could be a good replacement for my 28-75. Enjoy the upgrade and let us know what you think, especially coming from...

Oh no, not news I want to see. My wife just treated me to the 35mm GM (first GM) lens from Cotswold - order says processing so fingers crossed. I was going to buy myself and now wondering if I should save the money or treat myself to another lens/GM. My Tamron 28-75 has been my work horse and I...

Hahaha that thumbnail is insane, definitely knew what he was doing.

Thank you. Think the £250 more would be worth it for peace of mind, less faff. Selling my A7iii could then drop it to £1600-£1750. The temptation meter is sky high.

Under £2k on grey far more reasonable and tempting, let's hope it will come true.

Any details ;)? I'm on a A7iii, still got plenty of years left in it but I definitely have the upgrade itch.

Thank you. I've considered the Sigma as well and would almost certainly have a great time with it but after renting the GM 70-200, I fancy trying out another GM. Plus I believe the GM plays better with a TC (x1.4) if I got that as well.

Thank you both, I never even considered buying and reselling though I'd hate to think how much a GM 100-400 would cost - even second hand. Nor going elsewhere from Fat Llama, I'll check out Lens for Hire. Cheers :). Edit - £256 for the full holiday is far more reasonable.

Ola. Wondering if anyone has rented equipment abroad, particularly in Cape Town? I'm off on a safari later in the year and keen to rent something appropriate, currently eying the GM 100-400 (I have a A7iii), it's going to cost £400-500 from Fat Llama as I would obviously need to rent it for the...

I didn't consider that but probably not. I always pack too much especially with gadgets and camera equipment so will likely take the one body.

Thanks. And that's why I'm even more on the fence regarding the 35mm (effective 52mm on my D5200) vs something in the 20mm range.

In two minds. When I got my A7iii, I used my Samyang 85 1.4 more at first - took me a while to get into my Tamron 28-75 2.8. However it's now my go to lens but I do finding myself wanting more width and a bit more light. I'm off to NY in a couple of months and have several days to myself to...

Been a while since last posting, what timing with the Milky Way shot above. Finally got mine done after finding great conditions, just took going to the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan and an angry wild dog kicking off at me whilst setting up. Worth the wait.
