Well in Robb Kendrick's case he is part of today's crop! The pictures he produces would be almost impossible to replicate with digital, partly because of the wet-plate but mainly because they're portraits taken on large format.

This is really useful - I'm vaguely planning to make a 'large format' camera where you use a digital camera to photograph the resultant image cast on the ground glass, but I couldn't figure out where to get any!

Go for an OM4Ti - best camera in the OM range in my opinion. No battery problems and built like a tank. It's also got Multi-Spot metering, which is pretty funky.

Plenty of live music festivals use an inflatable cover for the stage. Apart from the noise of the fans, I don't see any problem with the concept as a mobile studio. The interesting thing would be to see if they can make something durable enough while still allowing light through if required.
