i should point out that the shot is taken at 10mm

im using the 77mm thread attachment thingy . this screws on to the lens then the holder over the top .

using my sigma 10 - 20 mm and a cokin filter holder results in this ... any way , other then cropping , to prevent this ?

At a guess - have you noise reduction turned on ? if so you'll buffer for 30's on a 30's exposure while the noise reduction works . thats my guess

i quite like the Fro , yeah he is annoying but i learn visually and for me that helps . Americans by default are all slightly annoying so i let that slide !!

im just starting to play with spot metering and seeing how it fits into my every day shooting . quick question - i normally shoot in A mode (d90) but when i shoot in manual do i still need to think about whether im spot , central or matrix metering ?

Not going to be popular but i dont think the images are good enough to have a positive ID , from the police point of view- the goods are insured and no one was physically hurt. I agree that a certain level of investigation should be put in , as it was clearly theft but how much should time...

I dont mean to turn this is to a "look at my photo " thread , but these where taken with a d90 , a 50mm 1.8 and a £5 set of extension tubes from amazon . no metering , no A/F . They took a little getting to use to but there a lot of fun. I found that the viewfinder becomes obsolete and liveview...

and on a selfish level i would really like a couple of post on how you achieve some of the shots that get.

Im a big fan of your site , Chris. Well laidout , good information , clean and lovely photos. My only critism is i would love to see you do some tutorials on some of your work , maybe someone videoing you whilst on a shot or doing some strobe work , then follow it through with the post...
