The recently released Canon zooms are very sharp. Would hope to that the trend continues.

The Canon 270EX II looks interesting. I will have a look at the availability on ebay!

Thanks for the replies. I do have a Yongnuo 600EX-RT which works very well for bounce flash, except for the battery drain issue if I forget to turn it off totally. But is a rather large flash to have on when chasing after the kids outdoor. Hence the desire to get a small, and lighter unit

I am hoping to get a small flash for fill-in on a Canon 6D. The Meike MK300 looks quite tempting. Anyone has experience with this flash?

If you need ultrawides the Canon 16-35mm is not the best performer so choices there may be limited.

I have the Canon 100mm non IS which is very good. Also have used some enlarger lens eg EL Nikkor reversed. The IQ is comparable to the Canon 100mm

My 70-200 f4 IS is one of the sharpest lens I have used

i think that's impressive under the circumstances

I use both the 70-200 and 100-400. I think they are very different lenses. I use the 70-200 as a walk about 20% of the time but will take the longer lens only if i shoot wildlife, airshows

My baby girl is a few weeks old and I find that my shots of her are rather boring. Any tips? I am using a Canon 550D and find that i mainly use the 17-55 2.8 IS although i have an 85mm 1.8 as well. Thanks
