Hi all, decided to bite the bullet and I have just taken delivery of my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II lens! Can't wait to get out and use it.

My Tamron is the early model that doesn't have auto focus. I'm wondering if that is why it's a tad slow? Maybe the body's auto focus motor is slower than a built-in lens auto focus?

You're right there! MPB only have the £800 lenses in stock so may have to hang on for pay day for one of those. I'll see what they offer me for my current lenses too. Has anyone any experience with the 17-55mm?

I bought my D7000 a month ago for a little under £600 but over the past few weeks the prices have been creeping back up again. I would suggest acting now and get one, even for £630 you won't be disappointed!
