Lens for shooting dog agility events

Hi all, decided to bite the bullet and I have just taken delivery of my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II lens! Can't wait to get out and use it.

Lens for shooting dog agility events

My Tamron is the early model that doesn't have auto focus. I'm wondering if that is why it's a tad slow? Maybe the body's auto focus motor is slower than a built-in lens auto focus?

Lens for shooting dog agility events

You're right there! MPB only have the £800 lenses in stock so may have to hang on for pay day for one of those. I'll see what they offer me for my current lenses too. Has anyone any experience with the 17-55mm?

Lens for shooting dog agility events

Hi all, I'm getting more and more into event photography, mainly dog agility events, Crufts, etc. Currently I have my Nikon D7000 with a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC. Both have been great lenses but now I'm finding them too slow and I miss a lot of potentially great shots. I...

    Price movement of a D7000

I bought my D7000 a month ago for a little under £600 but over the past few weeks the prices have been creeping back up again. I would suggest acting now and get one, even for £630 you won't be disappointed!

    Tamron 17-50mm without AF

Hi all, Looking for a new lens at the moment and I've found a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 on eBay without the AF motor. I have a Nikon D7000 so focusing won't be an issue but is this lens as good image quality and speed wise as the AF version? I've heard the VC version isn't as good from reading...

Is anyone going to Crufts this weekend?

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone is going to Crufts this weekend coming? If so, what lenses are you taking? I've just got my D7000 and 70-300mm but am wondering if I need any other lenses? I haven't been before and assume we'll just be sat in the stands? Cheers Will

A little confused trying to buy the right flash

Thanks for the reply. Sadly I can't view the classified ads section yet. I'll have a hunt around on eBay for an SB-600.

A little confused trying to buy the right flash

Morning, I'm looking around Amazon for my first flash to go with my D7000. The Nikon ones are pretty expensive and I have no idea what all of the information in the specification means! I would like the option of have the flash separate from the camera to get some decent shadow/lighting...
