    Even More Depressing?

My phone camera is quite good but it can't do what my DSLR can do, I'm just making the point that phone cameras are getting better and better and I believe capable of producing results better than most point and shoots (obviously the skill of the user also has to be taken into account!). Someone...

    I found this pretty depressing

Rich Ellis I said 'for example those who enter competitions' which therefore doesn't mean real photographers are only those who enter competitions. Ansel Adams may well have manipulated his picture but it was as much as a skill as taking the pictures in the first place; today a kid on a computer...

    Even More Depressing?

Not worried per se, just wondering if we will see a new breed of photographer; perhaps TP might have to start a Mobile Photography Forum (if there isn't one already?).

    Even More Depressing?

Following on from jerry12593 post here https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/i-found-this-pretty-depressing.590842/ there is more depressing news; could we be seeing the demise of 'real' cameras, look at the spec of the camera on the new LG G4 here...

    I found this pretty depressing

Read most but not all of this thread so if repeating anything then my apologies. Anyway, we seem to have gotten to a stage where you could actually create a 'photograph' without a camera and no one would be able to tell - you might be able to tell it was manipulated but not to what degree and...

    Getting the colour right advice?

Hi, set your camera exactly the way you have been doing but focus the camera using autofocus while you are holding it. Once focused, carefully switch the LENS to M (manual) and put it on your tripod. You can then use the remote to trigger the camera and adjust the exposure as many times as you...

Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab vs Note

The other difference is that the Note is designed for using a stylus although the Apps are a bit thin on the ground at the moment. Also, 3G commands over £100 premium over non-3G so ask yourself if you could use MiFi instead and link to it using the onboard WiFi to save your cash!

    Another New PC Thread....

PS: I use Scan Computers for all my parts and their 'Today Only' offers always have kits available at very good value.

    Another New PC Thread....

Ditto above, 3rd generation I5, as much RAM as possible. Check the spec of your motherboard - for future proofing get one that has more SATA 3 than 2 and more USB 3.0 than 2.0 (PCIe 3.0 is also latest graphics spec). In fact, with £1200 you should be able to keep i7 and get a decent monitor.good...

I'm very proud of my son

Garry, firstly glad to hear of the final outcome re your son but it really saddens me at the state our Police Force (or maybe individuals?) has got into to. How the criminal in your son's case can't also be charged with attempted murder, assault or some other serious offence I have no idea...

    Getting the colour right advice?

As EOS_JD said, you need to be in Manual focus. Until you master manual focussing, use auto-focus first then carefully switch the lens to manual focus so it isn't re-focused when you use the remote release. Good luck.

Nissin Di866 - Flashing But Not Caught By Camera?

Just to update you all, it turns out that it was the PCB in the head that had gone and was not repairable so I have now got one brand new Di866 head - not sure whether to sell or keep (bought a 580EX2 while it was in for repair).
